Herman Edward Seiser

As a journalist I covered two U.S. presidential cycles, was a bureau chief for United Press International and worked for several U.S. newspapers as a reporter and editor. In the late 1970s I free-lanced for The Associated Press in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe). I was forced to leave the country after writing a story about increasing guerrilla attacks on white suburbs in Salisbury (now Harare) and Bulawayo.

I am a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, having served in the then-South Vietnam from January 1967 through March 1968. Most of my writing is based on my experience of participating in the war against Vietnam.

Qandahar is my first novel.
