D.P. Benjamin

Donald Paul Benjamin is an award-winning novelist with accolades from the New Mexico Book Association and Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers. His writing includes elements of mystery, romance, fantasy, and humor. He also writes about Western Colorado history. He has authored Colorado true history, mysteries set the Four Corners Region, and epic fantasy. His latest novel is ONCE UPON A TIME AN OLD DEAD WHITE GUY WROTE A NOVEL. He has also authored cartoon collections including When Coffee Roamed the Earth, Wake Up and Smell the Coffee, Downhill, and When You Live Alone. In addition to his writing career, he works as a freelance journalist, cartoonist, and photographer. A U.S. Army veteran, he served three years as a military journalist and illustrator, including a tour in Korea. Trained as a teacher of reading, he has worked with a wide variety of learners from those attending kindergarten to college students. He also holds an advanced degree in college administration. He lived in Arizona and worked in higher education for more than three decades before retiring in 2014. He now resides in Cedaredge, a small town on the Western Slope of Colorado, where he hikes and fishes in the surrounding wilderness. He and his wife, Donna Marie, operate Elevation Press, and independent publishing house.
