Dr. Bunnie Claxton

Dr. Bunnie L. Claxton is the founder and CEO of Dissertation Research Specialist, a global consulting firm that partners with universities to strengthen their doctoral programs. Her work encompasses program development, curriculum design, and faculty training, with a focus on elevating research quality and institutional capacity. She brings over three decades of educational leadership across diverse settings—from K–12 public, private, and home schools to higher education. She previously served as Director of Applied Doctoral Research at Liberty University and as Superintendent of Liberty University Online Academy, where she continues to serve on the academy's board of directors.

Dr. Claxton holds multiple roles as an adjunct instructor, subject matter expert, and dissertation chair at universities worldwide. She is an international speaker who has presented her research at Oxford and Cambridge Universities and delivered the keynote address at the World Conference on Teaching and Education in Berlin, Germany. Dr. Claxton is the author of more than 25 academic textbooks, most notably her widely used Step-by-Step series.
