Sameer Hamdani is a conservationist and architectural historian based in Kashmir. He received his Ph.D. from the Department of Architectural Conservation, School of Planning & Architecture, New Delhi. He was the 2021-22 Aga Khan Fellow in Islamic Architecture, Conservation, and Urbanism at MIT, Cambridge. His conservation works in Kashmir include projects on cultural resource mapping, community involvement and resource building, and revival of traditional knowledge systems and crafts. His research focuses on South Asian material culture with a special focus on Kashmir.
