Scott Simon

Somewhere over the Atlantic, in the grip of a panic attack he couldn’t outrun, Scott Simon made a decision that would change his life forever: every day, he would do one thing that scared him.

He hasn’t missed a day since.

That commitment became Scare Your Soul, the movement Scott founded to help people build courage through small, deliberate acts in their everyday lives.

For more than 15 years, Scott has taught what it means to live courageously to audiences around the world. He weaves positive psychology and behavioral science with the real stories of people who are taking action toward a braver life.

His work rests on a simple premise: courage is not a personality trait but a muscle, built through repetition, and the bravest moments in life are often the smallest ones.

A graduate of Skidmore College, Scott holds an MA from Case Western Reserve University and earned certifications in positive psychology with Harvard professor and Happiness Studies Academy founder Tal Ben Shahar and habit design with Stanford University Behavior Design Lab founder BJ Fogg.

His 2022 book, Scare Your Soul: 7 Powerful Principles to Harness Fear and Lead Your Most Courageous Life, was published by Hachette/Balance. Scott has spoken and led courage experiences for the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers, Logitech, Ritz-Carlton, SXSW and many more.
