Nancy Cooper

Nancy is a proud member of the Chippewas of Rama First Nation in southern Ontario. Her first children's book, E Meshkwadooniged Mitig/The Trading Tree (Indigenous Education Press) was named of the best books of 2020 by American Indians In Children's Literature. She has written many stories (in collaboration with amazing Indigenous illustrators) for Chirp, Chickadee, and Owl magazines. Her second book, Biindigen! Amik Says Welcome (Owlkids Books) will be released in early 2023 and is now available for pre-order. Nancy lives in Toronto with her family.
