David Mauer

David Mauer graduated from Stony Brook University in 1969 and went on to receive his MBA from Penn's Wharton School. He has since served as President/CEO of several consumer products companies including Mattel USA. As the father of grown children, he wanted them to understand how his life was influenced by the social revolution that had its roots in the Vietnan War and the long-delayed demands of Blacks and women to share in the promise of America. His experience at a large, newborn university in the sixties showed him firsthand how individuals could make a difference in the direction of society. Like many others of his generation, he found the freedom and possibilities intoxicating. This book is a fictionalized story of what he learned. The parallels to the events of the 2020's are both remarkable and predictable. Mauer lives with his wife, Freddi Greenberg, in New York City.
