Like a throwback to the Romantic Age artists, painting away at their pictures and stories of legend, along with an added modern-day twist, W. David McKellar, an avid lifelong literary buff, continues on in that most honorable tradition with the deep irony and the ominous nature of his various works. A three-time award winning poetry recipient, achieving the acclaim of literary notables worldwide since 1998 with his first published work penned with the title "Mellow Star". Which found him instant favor and recognition within The International Poets Society, among others nationally and landed him in two novice books, "A Sea of Tranquility" and a worldwide compilation of new poets entitled "A Celebration of Poets".
An obscure screenplay writer as well whom has raised more than a few eyebrows, with his brutally honest, at times graphic, and pushing-over-the-boundary-limit unique old school writing style. Born in the Deep South, in Jackson, Mississippi, to a Scotch-Irish mother Mary Francis and Irish/Comanche father Charles Lindley, whom was a career U.S. Marine Corp Sgt., he was raised in both California and Texas, and settled as an adult on the scenic South Texas Gulf Coast. W. David is also an award-winning songwriter recipient for "Best Hard Rock Song" in 2016 which garnered him a nomination for Song of The Year and landed him back in the LA area on the red carpet at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena for the Indie Music Awards. As well as becoming now a burgeoning new full-time novelist he has already dropped a lot of jaws in the editor field with his extreme insight into ancient and modern philosophy and literature, being coined once by a critic as "a most quotable author than we have probably seen in decades" and known as "a wordsmith" by some of his closest contemporary's and peers.
Come along for the adventure and the ride as we weave our way through this all-new dark collection of fresh poetry and short stories in "A Shining Reflection", straight to you, from the desk of W. David McKellar.
