Jayaprakash Patil is an eye surgeon by profession, but passionate about endless number of things in life. He loves to capture nature and its endless beauty through his interest in photography and then pen his thoughts and observations in his own candid style. His insight on any topic is conscientious, vast and deep. Having lived in India, USA and now in the UK, he has widely explored varying terrains of land and sea and wildlife that comes with it, in three continents! This probably has offered him a vast amount of knowledge, wisdom and impetus to nurture and develop his childhood love for nature.

All his work would echo with nature and all the constant natural phenomena at any point in time. Not been a naturalist or an environmentalist, he has the advantage of not becoming too drudging or didactic. He still appreciates enormous changes the world we live in is going through, either in a good or bad way, sometimes the line between the two being so subtle and hard to decipher.

Some of these changes could be heart-breaking, such as the total extinction of a species from the face of Earth. But his work reiterates that we should never lose hope and that the human spirit collectively has overcome several unforeseen hurdles in the past with right acts at the right time and some perseverance. He calls us to be on a constant lookout for that little sprout of life that could be a game-changer. In addition to vast medical literature and scientific research work he has published, he has now diversified into the world of nature and art. As a result, we are seeing a different genre of work from him on various ecological and conservation topics with a fresh breath of air.
