Klara Wilde

Klara calls herself “a creator of worlds, a conjurer of the past”. She has tried her hand at several literary forms and genres, but most often writes historical novels imbued with mystery and suspense, and flavoured with a generous dash of romance. She holds a BA in Literature from The University of Tokyo and her BA thesis was an exploration of the literary traditions of courtly love in French and Japanese classical literature, as captured in The Tale of Genji and The Princess of Cleves.

Klara published her first book, a collection of haikus, at age seventeen to local literary acclaims. Her first novel “Ribbons and Salt” was released in December 2022 and dominated the Best Selling lists for Renaissance Fiction throughout the following year. The novel is the first installment in the Magnificent Games series, while “Masks and Powder” is the second.

When she does not write novels or poetry, she attends historical reenactment events as a costumer and performs historical dances. Klara has lived in Japan, India, Romania, Hungary, Belgium and France. For the past fifteen years she has been living in Sweden, where she shares a home with her son and two rabbits.
