James Patrick Maney

JP Maney’s life has taken him around the world, from factory floors and wilderness backpacking to an advertising and public relations career that brought him into corporate boardrooms and university teaching. Along the way he’s learned from indigenous elders, spiritual teachers and businesspeople. This experience nourishes his practical, plain-English approach to the Tao Te Ching. In “Your Day, Your Tao” he’s made the Tao an accessible tool for day-to-day living. He’s also written a pair of books full of light-hearted tales of his travels in Ireland’s cities and countryside. After years of visiting Ireland, he finally moved there. You can read about adapting to Irish life in “Ireland Feeds My Soul”. An Irish road trip evolved into “A Booklover’s Last Stand”, where he recounts stories of the people and places that form the bedrock of so many Irish communities. Much of his life has involved helping local businesspeople survive in a changing world of impersonal chain stores and one-click convenience. “Booklover” is a thank you to the entrepreneurs of the world, the people who believe in what they do, and in doing things their own way, without corporate hierarchies.
