Gillian Park

Gillian is a professional artist and a multi-award-winning teacher, speaker and coach. She actively encourages creativity in everyone, from absolute beginners to professionals, while also coaching artists on how to make money doing what they love.

As a Glasgow School of Art graduate, Gillian enjoyed a career as an award-winning magazine designer before realising, 13 jobs later, that she was wholly unemployable. Chucking the day job in 2004 and she launched her own design business specialising in packaging.

Gillian is a self-taught painter and became a full-time professional artist in 2016, five years from picking up her brushes and now shares her stable studio with her dogs and guinea pigs, surrounded by glorious Ayrshire countryside.

Inspired by her surroundings, Gillian loves to paint big, bold, colourful expressive landscapes and abstracts in oils, mixed media and pastels and opened her onsite gallery in 2018 where her work is displayed. She exhibits throughout the UK with collectors in Australia, USA, New Zealand, Hungary, France and also has a painting in HM King Charles’ collection at Dumfries House. Her online Art Academy opened in September 2021 and has since taught students online as far flung as North Carolina!

Gillian has a serious shoe fixation, has a love of all things vintage, enjoys boxing and crocheting giant brightly coloured blankets in her spare time.

Her mission in life is to pioneer the joy of creativity in all, to become a positive artist role model missing in so many young lives and prove to the world that art IS a real job and you CAN make money doing what you love!
