Annette A. Eckert

Annette A. Eckert is the author of the Page and Annie Tales, a series of children’s early reader books, featuring Page, a Yellow Labrador, and her human girl, Annie. Victoria Brzustowicz is the illustrator. The stories are told from Page’s viewpoint.

The books began life as memoir vignettes based on Annette’s childhood experiences with her dogs and other beloved pets. The stories were written for a memoir’s writing class at Washington University (St. Louis) Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. Her classmates urged her to turn the pieces into children’s books.

The Belleville, Illinois, native has previously written or co-authored legal treatises, professional legal articles and even a humorous cookbook in her roles as a judge, lawyer and mom.

She is a graduate of Bradley University, Peoria, Illinois, and DePaul University College of Law, Chicago, Illinois. She lives in a century-old home with her husband, Bill Enyart, and their Yellow Labrador, whose resemblance to Page is purely coincidental.

Victoria Brzustowicz is an award-winning painter and illustrator. A native of Rochester, NY, Brzustowicz graduated from Wells College with a BA in Studio Art. Through her career, she has provided illustrations for a wide range of projects, but counts children's book illustration as her favorite.

Her paintings and illustrations reflect her appreciation for the natural world. Located in the Finger Lakes region of New York State, she enjoys the beauty of the area and the company of two dogs, a cat, a horse, and a husband.
