Amanda McKee was born in Britain where she earned a B.Sc. honours degree in Biology. After emigrating to Canada she obtained a B.Ed at the University of Toronto. She taught High School Biology, Math and Science for over thirty years. Today she is retired but still presents Biological courses at her local Senior centre. She enjoys gardening in the summer months, jigsaw puzzles, reading and computer games in the winter months and table tennis at the senior centre year round. She travels as much as she can, learning about the different cultures and appreciating all the world has to offer. Amanda is married with two children and lives in Ontario Canada.
She is uniquely qualified to write a book about recovering from anxiety as she suffered for about ten years before finding a way out of this debilitating condition. To engage readers she decided to write her book as a story of "Julia" recovering from anxiety with suggestions for the anxious person at the end of each chapter. There are flashbacks to Julia's past, descriptions of her visiting therapists and excerpts from her journal. Amanda wrote the book in a way that she felt would of helped her when she was immersed in the anxiety.
