John Chadwick

John Chadwick is a New York City–based banking executive, entrepreneur, and the author of Advanced Placement Adulting. With more than 25 years of experience in global banking, business ownership, and real estate investing, he helps readers understand money, make informed decisions, and work toward their own definition of financial independence.

Raised by a hardworking single mother, John learned early the importance of perseverance, personal responsibility, and making the most of available resources. He earned a BS in Business Management and an MBA. Yet even with that education, he discovered how much of adulthood—from managing personal finances to navigating career decisions—required lessons that had never been covered in class.

Throughout his career, John has served as a Managing Director at a global bank, owned a franchise, built a real estate holding company, and started several businesses with his wife. Those experiences have taught him through both successes and mistakes, shaping his practical approach to financial education.

John wrote Advanced Placement Adulting to help teens and young adults prepare for the responsibilities and opportunities of independent life. The book brings together lessons on personal finance, developing a mindset for success, and navigating important topics often left out of traditional education. It also offers parents and mentors a starting point for meaningful conversations about money, work, and the future.

John believes financial knowledge should be accessible and useful. Everyone begins with different resources and challenges; understanding the available options can help people make more confident choices and build greater financial resilience.

Outside work and writing, John enjoys skiing, international travel, scuba diving, staying active, practicing mindfulness, and spending time with his wife.
