Dave Swift

Dave Swift has a background in field archaeology and is founder of Claíomh Irish Living History & Mobile Museum. In addition to research work, he variously works as a Historic Advisor, armourer/wardrobe supplier, museums facilitator & educator, Heritage In Schools panelist and leather craft workshop tutor. His research interests include Easter Week 1916 & the Irish War of Independence, WW1 trench raiding and combat, sixteenth century Ireland, renaissance arts, late medieval Irish & West Highland carved effigies, gallowglasses/gallóglaigh, native Irish arms & armour, pigments and binders, and Ireland's Viking Age. He holds an MSc in Experimental Archaeology and is a Fáilte Ireland National Tour Guide.
