Lia Giannakis

Lia Giannakis is a first-generation Greek-American and Christ-follower, whose mission is to make people learn and laugh because truth and laughter are our best defenses against the current insanity. She lived in New York City for 10 years, has traveled around the world, worked as a journalist, book editor, school teacher, and college professor. She the author of "Foreign Friends" (2022).

Lia's second novel, "Climbing the Great Pyramid" (2025) is a romantic adventure that follows two highly educated, intellectual women on their global journey to spread peace and reconciliation--only to discover the world doesn't want that. Their travels take them to ancient sites, conflict-ridden communities, and involve them in an international mystery. The more unfamiliar experiences change them, they realize their idealism is no match for the deep-rooted hatreds and traumas of the people they encounter—including family members. Climbing the Great Pyramid of Giza becomes a powerful turning point that will lead Maria and Yasmeen to confront both their deepest needs and their respective faiths. How much will they risk to get what they've always wanted?
