Simon Keable-Elliott

Simon Keable-Elliott works as a writer, researcher, and lecturer. He has written articles for, among others, The Journal of the Society for Army Historical Research, the Honolulu Civil Beat, The Church Times and The History News Network, as well as a chapter on the South African Native Labour Corps in There Came a Time 3, Fiction as Memory. He is an accredited Arts Society lecturer and also a regular speaker at events run by Western Front Associations, U3As, Probus and Family History Societies. His first book 'Utterly Immoral, Robert Keable and his scandalous novel' was about his grandfather. 'Guys like Gauguin, writers and artists in 1920s Tahiti' came out in August 2026. Simon, a graduate of Durham University, has lived in South London for almost 40 years. He owned and ran Keables Café Bar Restaurant in West Norwood for 8 years before training as a teacher and working as Head of Politics and Director of Model United Nations at Royal Russell School for 25 years.
