Melony Beard

My name is Melony Beard. I'm a wife, mother of three boys and a grandmother to one. I've had a lifelong love for writing, especially writing in rhyme. I also love to write silly tales that make kids smile and laugh. While raising boys, I realized how hard it was to create an interest in reading for them. The boys often liked the silliest stories we could find to read. My hope is to create content to entice the even the most unlikely child reader to want to pick up a book and read it.

I've written several stories and I continue to write. I have one series written called the Land of Fairy Tales which is based on a land far away where all good fairy tale characters live together next the land, called the Badlands, where all bad fairy tale characters live. Filled with lollipop trees, gardens of hearts and easter eggs, and many familiar characters along with some newly created ones, the stories are written to not only entertain, but also teach valuable lessons in sharing, helping and friendship.

I'm also writing several silly rhyming books intended for the youngest of readers to enjoy while teaching basic concepts including numbers.
