Donald Schaeffer

Donald Schaeffer is the multiple award-winning author of "Sienna, a Wizard & the Magical Mice" published in 2022. It has won a 2023 Global Ebook Gold Medal Award in Children’s Literature, a 2023 Purple Dragonfly Book Award winning second place in Children’s Chapter Books, and a 2024 Next Generation Indie Book Award - Finalist in Children's/Juvenile Early Readers/Chapter Books (Fiction). "Sienna & the Magical Christmas" is the second book in the Sienna series and it was published in 2023. It has won a 2024 Regal Summit Book Award in Children's Middle Grade. In early 2024 Donald published his first children's picture book entitled, “The Spider Who Saved the Tree.” Donald is currently working on the third book in the Sienna series, entitled "Sienna & the Magical Adventure Park."

Donald is the President of the accounting firm, Schaeffer & Sam, CPA, P.C., and practices in New York. He is also Chair of the Board of Trustees of Hofstra University and Co-Chair of the Joint School of Medicine Board of the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.

He and his wife, Joan Behr Schaeffer, live in New York, and they have been married over fifty years. They enjoy spending time with their son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter. Joan is the President and CEO of their publishing company, Circle Originals LLC.
