Sheila Fein

I am an illustrator/writer/fine artist. I create individual styles and characters digitally for books I illustrate/write for myself and other authors. As a fine artist I create works on paper and canvas in acrylic paint, oil pastels, pastels, colored pencil, ink markers, and the airbrush. My paintings and drawings are in private collections across the US and abroad.

There is nothing I love more than bringing a story to life. Writing "Pookie and Dookie Become Friends" with author, Robyn Flans has been an honor since she first brought this story to me to illustrate. Some other amazing books I have illustrated are "Mama Graciela’s Secret" by author Mayra Calvani (reprinted again and also available for dyslexic readers), "My Milk Will Go, Our Love Will Grow" by social worker, Jessica Elder as well as "Okelani's Enchanted Wheelchair Space Bound!" (Book and Coloring Book) written by Alexandra Sanchez. I am pleased to let everyone know that I illustrated and designed the second book and coloring book in the Okelani Series called "Okelani's Enchanted Wheelchair Under the Sea!" Book and Coloring book available now!

Being an original New Yorker transplanted to the Santa Monica Mts. of LA, has given me a unique perspective. Having raised 4 amazing daughters, my lab Charlie Sage, and being a Gami, of 2 grandsons and a granddaughter makes life inspirational and joyful.

Whether, I am creating a painting or using my craft for illustration, I seek to work without the critic on my shoulder. Following the voice inside has led me to this wonderful and fulfilling dual career.
