Omer Arad

Omer Arad is an Israeli playwright and writer. In 2003, he

published a poetry book with Gvanim Publishing, The House

of My Dreams. In 2007, he started to produce, direct and act

in short films (in silent film style), intended for the internet

and film festivals. These included The Gympsy Baxter series,

Hallucination, The Date, Water, Young Again, and B-Day.

In 2016, in collaboration with director Joseph Gold, Arad

wrote a full-length silent film, Shadowy Clowns that

premiered at Cinematheque Tel Aviv in May 2018. Since

2008 he had been a member of the Israeli Academy of Film

and Television. From 2014 until 2019 he was an active

member of the Domino Gross group.

In 2017 Arad wrote his first play for production, Three

Muses. A year later, he collaborated with Liron Levy, who

adapted and directed the play. He also acted in the play,

which premiered at Niko Nitai Theater on 13 April 2019, and

created and performed the music.

Around that time, Arad wrote his second play, The Forest of

Seville, which was adapted and directed by Liron Levy and

premiered at Niko Nitai Theater on 12 March 2020. His third

play, Depression on Trial, was also adapted and directed by

Liron Levy. It was filmed and premiered digitally during the

Coronavirus period, in December 2020, at Citizen Can

Festival at Niko Nitai Theater. In May 2021, it premiered for

the first time in front of a live audience at the American Zion

House. Arad’s fourth play, A Night with Marseille, was

adapted and directed by Liron Levy and premiered at Niko

Nitai Theatre on 23 August 2021. Eliot Bedingfield, the Man

with Two Heads, is his first novel. It was first published on

Amazon in December 2022. 'Marseille's Diary-Piero' is his

second novel, and the first in a literary series about the

character of Marseille Mars.
