Howdy friends
Thanks always to those who check this page and those who purchase books or read them on Kindle Unlimited. I get reports on Kindle Pages by book. It's sometimes a little humbling when someone reads 10 pages...and quits. The reports are anonymous, of course.
The new book...the new book..."The Postman of Nowhere Atoll" will be available in September. I will officially introduce it at Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia at Commenter Con 5, first week of October. It will be available a few weeks before that for Kindle and ordering because that's necessary to have some copies for the formal introduction.
"Postman" is about a Navy yeoman, commonly considered the wimpiest rating in the Navy. Henry Fisher is drafted into the Navy during the early expansion in 1941. By the time his ship is strafed and bombed at Pearl Harbor, he is something of an old hand in a new Navy. Henry will spend the war in the South Pacific (he becomes a Shellback early on), stationed at atolls where he doesn't even know the location -- Nowhere Atolls. Mail is a big deal for deployed and Henry often serves as the mail clerk, thus "Postman". There are hints of Rodgers' and Hammerstein's "South Pacific" here and there but it's much more about the crowded, busy, lonely life of ordinary men far from home and too close to the enemy. I hope you'll enjoy it -- and post reviews!
