Mitchell Ryan Murtoff

Mitchell Ryan Murtoff was born in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and raised in Gardners, PA. He attended Biglerville High School where he played several sports and was a member of the National Honor Society throughout junior and senior high school. He attended Messiah College in Grantham, PA where he studied abroad for one semester in England and Scotland. He also lived in Columbus, Ohio for several years before moving back to PA. He learned to skate and play ice hockey while living in Columbus. He had also traveled to Argentina and Paraguay during his time in Columbus, OH. He also started a successful woodworking business, Innovative Designs Unlimited in 2011, which is now internationally known. His first book, The Longing, was published on October 23,2020. This book was a finalist in the urban poetry category in the Best Book Awards contest in 2021.His other two books, The Rise, Fall, and Resurrection of Mitchell Ryan Murtoff 2000-present and For the Love of Sports were published in December 2022. His fourth book, The Hauntings of Mitchell Ryan was published on July 10, 2023. His fifth book, Growing Up in America Mitchell Ryan Murtoff The Early Years 1974-1999 was published in January 2025 and his sixth book, The Light and Darkness of My Life was published in June 2025. In recent years, he has also started playing acoustic-electric guitars and songwriting. He wrote the lyrics for his first song, Live While I'm Alive, based on his poem from his first book on July 7,2023. He plans on pursuing a career in music as well. He has written three other songs as of December 2025 and started a YouTube channel, MRM Music Enterprises.
