Yvette E. Pearson

Yvette E. Pearson, Ph.D. is Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at The University of Texas at Dallas and Founder and Principal Consultant of The PEER Group, LLC. A Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Dr. Pearson has nearly 30 years of experience in higher education and is known globally for her work at the intersections of sustainability, justice, equity, diversity and inclusion.

Dr. Pearson is a registered Professional Engineer and a Commissioner on the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. She holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering and M.S. in Chemistry from Southern University, a graduate certificate in Educational Research Methodology from The University of Illinois at Chicago and a Ph.D. in Engineering and Applied Science from The University of New Orleans.

A devoted mother and daughter, Dr. Pearson enjoys singing, songwriting, and performing. She and her brother released an EP titled, “So Amazing” under their stage name, TraVet. She wrote, co-produced, and with her brother performed "Inspired," the theme song for her podcast, Engineering Change, which has audiences in over 80 countries.
