Dr. Janelle Johnson, PhD, LPC, NCC

Dr. Janelle Johnson, PhD, LPC, NCC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Counselor Educator, author, mental health speaker, and mental health media commentator dedicated to promoting human well-being, mental wellness, and empowerment. Through counseling, education, writing, and advocacy, Dr. Johnson works to challenge mental health stigma and provide compassionate, evidence-informed perspectives that support healing, resilience, and personal growth.

Dr. Johnson earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Counselor Education and Supervision from Grand Canyon University. She also holds a Master of Arts in Counseling from Regis University, a Bachelor of Science in Family Resources and Human Development from Arizona State University, and an Associate of Arts in Business from Phoenix College.

As the founder of Life Balance Counseling, Dr. Johnson brings extensive counseling experience and expertise in grief and loss, anxiety, life transitions, emotional regulation, relationship challenges, and self-worth. She is the author of When Grief Becomes Us: Death Loss and continues to contribute to mental health awareness through scholarship, storytelling, education, and compassionate conversations about healing and human connection.
