I have always found writing to have a calming, soothing effect on me and my first novel proved to be an extremely cathartic experience. Growing up as a military baby and subsequently moving house, school and even country on a regular basis meant my imaginative qualities were amplified and I often found myself lost in a world of make believe.
Writing my first book was not at all planned and actually developed as a form of self imposed therapy, whereby I took something terrible that happened to me and that I never had closure from, flipped the script and changed the narrative into something creative. Before I knew it, characters seemed to develop themselves and I simply filled in the gaps to produce a story of my own and hopefully I can inspire others to take a leap of faith on themselves too.
