The middle child in a family of five girls, Mei Y. Li learned to grab her family's attention through storytelling. Mei is a Language Arts teacher and the author of "The Zodiac Animal" series. Her stories are inspired by those she loves and the wonderful journey of growing and learning with them. Each story comes with an animal Fun Facts page, an About Lunar New Year page, and a section for Suggested Activities and Discussions.
"The Tiger Cub's First Words" was inspired by her son's journey with speech and Mei's personal learning journey that we all communicate, just differently. Once we learn each other's communication styles, we can find harmony and bring joy to our relationships.
Mei's second book in the series, "Rabbit's First Stand," was inspired by the differences and miscommunication she often witnessed either in the classroom or among adults. When we do not speak up or when we misinterpret intentions, we allow miscommunication to fester with negativity. Stand firm to open communication and be open to seeing positive intentions, so we can all happily hop along life with our loved ones.
