Fausto Muniz

Fausto Muniz was born in Recife, but his childhood and adolescence took place in Vicencia, 100 km from the capital of Pernambuco. It was from there that he brought the typical northeastern regional references that would characterize much of his creative and artistic production. At the age of 15, he launched a poetry book and won a national essay contest with a chronicle about the São Francisco River. In Recife, he graduated in Social Communication with a qualification in Journalism and a specialization in Marketing. Worked in press offices and private media. He moved to Ireland in 2017 and went on to study theater and screenwriting. The first script, O Rabo de Ronaldo, won the Script+ competition this year; with Professional Choradeiras, he won the following year. From Ireland, he moved to Portugal, in 2019, to start a Masters in Cinema (University of Beira Interior, Covilhã). He works as a Storyteller aboard an amphibian: a half-bus, half-boat vehicle that travels through the historic streets of Lisbon spreading generous doses of comedy and fun and is preparing to release his first novels and short stories.
