The Retreat is my debut novel, a mystery with more than a touch of the paranormal about it. The book has been many years in the making. I have always loved writing but generally confined it to short poems and stories, these only ever given to family and friends and personalised. A life altering event determined me to make more of my time and to embrace the experiences I have had, from early childhood to adult life. This first book is a fictional novel, however draws on things I have witnessed. Most children are psychic up to the age of eleven, at about that age they start to lose the ability, it really is a case of use it or lose it. I chose to lose most of it, but a residual sense and sensitivity towards psychic phenomenon remained.

My second novel "Curiosity Kills" is also a paranormal mystery, find a genre stick to it. I am hoping that will be out at the end of 2023. I am working on a third presently. Writing is difficult when working five days a week and having a house to run, along with a prima donna Cockapoo, however, like all hobbies somehow time is found. I take inspiration from this wonderful crazy world in which we live, and my family who enrich my life so much.

A football fan I follow the highs and many lows of my football team, although I am more an armchair supporter. Swimming in the sea is probably my favourite thing to do, although living a long way from it, a rarity. Cycling and walking are more my thing, especially in the glorious countryside in England. My cycling is more like squeals on wheels, definitely love the off road paths near my home, but have to go along some pretty busy roads to get to them. I don't like cooking, apologies to anyone who has had my offerings from the kitchen, it hates me, I'm certain of that. I can bake a decent cake though and have made several christening and a couple of wedding cakes.
