Gary Prisk

Born in Pheonix in 1943, the son of an infantry Major who landed on Juno Beach on June 6, 1944, as one of eight "Personal Liaison Officers for Field Marshal Montgomery. Surviving the European campaigns, Major Edward Prisk assissted in the liberation of the Nazi concentration camp at Bergen-Belsen.

Gary graduated from East Bremerton Highschool, in Bremerton, Washington in 1961. He attended the University of Washington in Seattle receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1966. Following his father's footsteps he received an infantry commision from Army ROTC. After a tour in Germany and then a tour in Vietnam (1967/68) as a platoon leader with the 173rd Airborne Brigade, he rejected Vietnam's war as a tragedy and resigned his commision and returned to the University of Washington in 1970, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, an MBA, and was accepted into the doctoral program in finance, teaching Finance 350.

Dealing with some form of post combat stress, he left the university and began a career in construction where he could better control my emotions.

His first historical novel was published in hardback, "Digger Dogface Brownjob Grunt: Looking for an Echo", in 2009 and this novel was republished in paperback in December 2022, along with his second historical novel, "Dyin's Easy", a fast paced story of international intrigue, circa 1939, British Special Operations from Burma to Marseille.

Gary lives in a small waterfront home in Poulsbo, Washington with his bride Linda. This year they will celebrate their 57th year of marrige. They have two children, Kimberly and Karl, and five grandsons.
