Karin Tramm

Karin Tramm is an award-winning author, international photographer, and retired early childhood educator. She began her overseas teaching career in 1983 on the sunny island of Guam. She joined the Department of Defense Education Activity in 1986 in the Philippines. She went on to live and work in Germany, California, Iceland, Virginia, Spain, and Italy. Karin's photography has been featured in shows, newspapers and magazines. Karin’s travel articles have been published in The Pacific Daily News, The Monterey Herald, USO News, and Iceland Explorer magazine, among others. Her short stories are included in the anthologies, Schooling with Uncle Sam, Host Nation Hospitality, Home: It's Complicated, and In Service with Uncle Sam, published by the Museum of the American Military Family where Karin serves as Director of Education. 100 Days Smart, her first book, was awarded the gold medal for memoir by the Military Writers Society of America.
