James Taffe

Dr James Taffe is a Tudor historian whose research focuses on royal servants and the Tudor court from 1485 to 1603, with a particular focus on the households of Henry VIII's queens. Born in Birmingham, he now lives in Newcastle, UK. He studied at Queen Mary, University of London and University of Birmingham before completing his PhD at Durham University in 2022. His first publication was Courting Scandal, a biography of Jane Boleyn, Lady Rochford. More recently he has completed work on Serving the Tudors, a new monograph broadly investigating the lives and careers of servants to all the Tudor kings, queens, princes and princesses.
