Greg Velm

Greg Velm (AP US History for Dummies, True Gold - History and Adventure in Sacramento and the Gold Country, US History Review) is the past President of the Sacramento Historical Society, retired graduate professor at the University of San Francisco and leader of adventure travel in Northern California and the world. Velm has run the Colorado through the Grand Canyon with an IK (capsizing repeatedly), dodged polar bears (successfully!) on Hudson's Bay, and explored the mysteries of the 2000 year history of Constantinople from Rumeli Hisari on the shores of the Bosporus (which he swam across twice, just to see how hard it was).

Now too old to do anything but have fun, Velm's last book - History of Inspiration - will be published in 2024. He lives with his family a few steps from the American River.
