Shane L. Bishop

Shane has served as the Sr. Pastor of Christ Church in Fairview Heights, Illinois since 1997. Christ Church combined worship attendance has increased under his leadership from 200 in 1997 to about 4,000 each week in 2026. His social media posts get about 10 million reads each year.

Shane was named a “Distinguished Evangelist” by the Foundation for Evangelism in 2010. Christ Church, an independent congregation affiliated with The Foundry Network, has six weekly worship services, two regional campuses and a significant on-line community. Christ Church was recognized as one of the 100 fastest growing churches in the country in 2018 by Outreach Magazine.

Shane holds two degrees from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and graduated cum laude from Candler School of Theology at Emory University.

Shane is the author of “That’s Good News,” “The PING Life,” "In Search of the Holy" and the Trail Guide series. “That’s Good News” was a #1 best seller on Amazon in Church Growth in the US and UK. He has spoken at venues throughout the world.

Shane resides in rural Clinton County, Illinois with his wife of 43 years, Melissa. The couple has two adult children, four grandchildren, and two hundred pounds of rescue dogs.
