Dondi Day

Dr. Dondi M. Day has spent his career where decisions carry real consequences: on Coast Guard decks, in patrol cars, and at the table where major contracts are won, lost, and fought over. He writes about people under that kind of pressure. Under his own name he publishes professional nonfiction and memoir. As Mike Anthony, he writes crime thrillers, apocalyptic fiction, coastal adventures, and books on first-responder resilience.

Dr. Day is a corporate risk management executive with decades of experience in contracts, compliance, and enterprise risk. His work spans construction, engineering, healthcare, defense, manufacturing, technology, and public-sector contracting. His contract risk books treat a signed agreement as something an organization has to manage every day, because that is where performance, accountability, and disputes are decided. His forthcoming leadership book, Loyal Ground, asks why good people leave and what leaders can do to build teams people choose to stay on.

He is a retired law enforcement officer, a U.S. Coast Guard veteran, and a licensed captain. His memoir, Ghosts, Smoke, and the Badge, looks at a life in policing and what that work costs the people who do it.

As Mike Anthony, he writes about North Carolina's Crystal Coast, where he lives. The Luke Garrison Thrillers follow a coastal lawman into corruption, cover-ups, and hurricane season. The Bogue Banks Chronicles follow islanders holding on as the world beyond the bridge comes apart.
