Peter Westphal (MBA, Ph.D.)
Peter Westphal has lived and worked in Asia for 30 years, in various leadership and consulting roles, at national, Asia-Pacific, European and global levels. His passion and focus is leadership development and effective, mutually rewarding teamwork in decision-making teams. He has followed the development and practice of Crew Resource Management (CRM), especially in aviation, for almost 20 years. His work, therefore, focusses on Human Factors that affect and sometimes compromise team decision-making.
Peter Westphal has researched the combined effects of virtual communication and culture on teamwork in decision-making teams. He has contributed several book chapters on topics such as decison-making processes and global leadership. After relocating to Europe with his international family, he is involved in leadership and consulting in the education sector.
Peter Westphal completed his MBA at Edinburgh Business School, U.K. and holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Northcentral University, USA. He has contributed chapters to several books, including: Achieving Better Decision-Making and Growth by Transforming Mindsets and Organizational Cultures: Changing from Blame Cultures to Systematic Error Management in Aviation and Beyond and Globale Führungskompetenz durch eine dezentrale, teilweise virtuelle Unternehmensführung (German).
