Heather Boschke

Heather Boschke is a Minnesota artist and author. Inspired by her grandfather’s nickname, “Heather Feather,” she began drawing birds as a creative outlet after the Covid lockdown. These little birds are now featured in her children’s book series, Little Birdie Buddies.

The series encourages readers to connect with nature, learn fun bird facts, and see their own inner beauty through the unique personalities of each bird. In addition to books, the growing collection of Little Birdie Buddies includes cards, mugs, prints, stickers, and more - with new items always being added. Little Birdie Buddies is for kids of all ages!

There are 4 children's books in the series:

• Little Birdie Buddies of Minnesota: From illustrations and facts about common birds from cardinals to loons that you can see in backyards and parks around Minnesota. It encourages the reader to connect with nature, bird facts and see their own inner beauty.

• Little Birdie Buddies of Wisconsin: Showcases bird illustrations and introduces the different species of birds commonly found in Wisconsin from robins to sandhill cranes.

• Little Birdie Babies: Introduces readers to the early stages of life for different bird species, showcasing playful illustrations of baby birds ranging from emperor penguins to ruby-throated hummingbirds.

• Butts-Up Birdies: From webbed feet to waterproof feathers and their famous butts-up pose, each duck is brought to life with playful details that highlight what makes them unique. Readers will meet a variety of dabbling ducks and discover the traits and habits that help them thrive.
