Bill Lambrecht

Bill Lambrecht is a journalist, author and book publisher near Washington DC along the Chesapeake Bay. He also goes by William. His books include: Dinner at the New Gene Cafe: How Genetic Engineering is Changing What We Eat, How We Live and the Global Politics of Food (Thomas Dunne/St. Martin's, 2001) published in several languages; and Big Muddy Blues: True Tales and Twisted Politics Along Lewis and Clark's Missouri River. (Thomas Dunne/St. Martin's, 2005). His is currently writing fiction. He was Washington correspondent for more than three decades specializing in political and environmental topics. His work as a journalist merited a Society of Professional Journalists' Bronze Medallion and more than a dozen other awards. He was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize on multiple occasions and is a member of the Gridiron Club. He is co-founder of Bay Weekly, the Annapolis-based newspaper covering the Chesapeake Bay's Western Shore. He is a partner, with wife Sandra Olivetti Martin, in New Bay Books, a hybrid publisher focused on the Chesapeake region. He writes about authors at NewBayBooks.com.
