Chuck Brown

Chuck Brown is a native New Mexican, and a first-generation member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Brother Brown joined the Church while attending BYU in 1972.

He served twice as an Elders Quorum President, has been Young Men’s President, Seminary Teacher, twice as a Bishops Councilor & as a High Councilman. From 1991 until 1996 he was Bishop of the Ventura Ward in the Albuquerque East Stake. From 2008 through 2013 he served as Branch President of the University Branch at UNM. He currently serves as an Interfaith Leader in the Communications Group for his Church.

Chuck has been involved in many community services outside the Church. He served on the group which helped found the original Make- a- Wish Foundation in Albuquerque. He’s served on the Board of the YMCA of Greater Albuquerque. He’s been a Rotarian, in the Albuquerque del Norte Club, serving in many positions there including being President of that Club and President of the Club’s Non-Profit Foundation. He served as a member of the State Fair Commission. Currently Chuck’s the President of the Evergreen Cemetery Association in the small community of Santa Rosa, NM where he grew up.

His hobbies include archaeology, fishing, hunting and family history.

Brother Brown and his wife, Shirlene (Mullins) were married in 1974. have 5 married children and 19 grandchildren.
