J E Cope

I was born Jewell Cope, Jr. to Jewell Cope, Sr. & Helen Marie (Smith) Cope in Goldsboro, N.C. on January 28, 1944. My dad was in the military & we moved a lot. We ended up in Altus, OK when I was in high school.

I went to high school & attended college in OK; I played football from grade school through college. I coached football for eight years in OK & TX. During my college years I did a brief stint in the Marine Corps, and was discharged because of a non-service related injury (Football of course)

After my coaching days, I went to work for Motorola C&E as a Company Communications Sales Rep, where I was fortunate enough to be selected as "Geographic Salesman of The Year" in 1977. While working for Motorola, I met a gentleman named Harold Hamm; that relationship led me to what became a forty-six year career in the Oil & Gas Industry.

I worked for Harold Hamm, Weatherford International, various other service and E&P companies.

I was married to a wonderful, sweet, beautiful, Christian Lady who went home to be with The Lord in 2020. I have three awesome children from a previous marriage, & two bonus children from my wife's previous marriage. Together, we have seven magnificent grand-children.

I am a Christian. My relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important thing in m life!! I love my Faith, Family, Football, Food & Fishing. I believe that The Lord has called me to mentor & be of service to others who may be on some of the paths I have been on.

I presently reside in Disney, OK on the Grand Lake of the Cherokees in NE Oklahoma.

This is where I have authored my two Devotional Books, "The Church- The Body of Christ" and "100 Days of Miracles".
