Ryan Crawford

Ryan Crawford is Director of First Year Writing at the University of New Haven. His research combines composition studies, neuroscience, education, psychology, and philosophy to examine the concepts of self and agency as emergences from discourse, and how emotional value and intrinsic motivation impact those emergences. Informed by neurobiological evidence of plasticity, his work explores the material change of brain and body through valuation of stimuli to better understand motivation, memory, creativity, and fulfillment.
