As a kid growing up in New York City, Beau Bernstein roamed the halls and galleries of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (The MET), keeping almost every one of the little metal buttons visitors had to wear in those days as a special token to mark each visit. During junior high school, Beau took classes in comic book inking at Parson's School of Design in the evenings and went on to attend the Rhode Island School of Design, where he studied Renaissance Painting Techniques and Illustration. Beau has lived in Europe and Japan and he has always remained inspired by the artistic sensibilities of those places and the comic book illustrators of his NYC childhood. He draws, paints, writes, drinks matcha daily, plays the Shakuhachi and has some 300 of those little MET buttons in a treasure box to this day.
