Nadia Ilchuk graduated from the National Technology University of Ukraine “Igor Skorksy KPI,” but art was her true passion. Paints and pencils were the highlight of her kindergarten days in Bila Tserkva, Ukraine. After the birth of her twin daughters, she took up her paints and pencils again and pursued art. She has illustrated over 200 books and stories for children across the world. Nadia’s love of animals, nature, and travel shines through the pages of her work. When she is not illustrating or teaching kindergarten art, she paints cheery murals or goes on nature walks.
Nadia lives in Kyiv with her two daughters, who motivate her to be strong and positive while her husband defends their country by serving in the army. Nadia created the illustrations for Sweet Potato Moon while enduring massive power outages, sheltering from bombs, and at times as a war refugee. She sincerely desires for her artwork to inspire compassion and hope that never fades from this wonderful world.
