The Author & the Architect Larry Windes was born with a passion to create the environment we live in. From stacking up little rock houses in the front yard, covering the living room furniture with bed sheet tents, delighting in Lincoln Log houses, that compulsion led to drafting class in high school, then Bachelor of Architecture degree at Arizona State University.
Upon obtaining his professional architectural license, he founded his firm in Aspen, Colorado, USA in the early 1970’s where he specialized in the creation of innovative physical environments utilizing inspiration from the past, present, and the future. Moving to Manhattan, New York he pioneered the Festival Market concept by executing the Master Plan and Design of BridgeMarket under the approaches to the Queensborough Bridge in 1975.
The architect has continued design, planning, and development tasks in Arizona, Colorado, California, New York, and Hawaii within the USA, plus Great Britain, France, Spain, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. After completing the master plan and design of Eloy City, a 10,000-acre city of 35,000 population in Arizona, enough was enough. Together with his lovely wife Cynthia, they semi-retired to the coffee mountains of Costa Rica.
