Ruth Jackson is an author and co-founder of MTDA Publishing Company, a family-founded, Black woman-owned independent publishing company based in Chicago. A storyteller with a gift for bringing history, family, faith, resilience, and unforgettable characters to life, Ruth writes across multiple genres for children and adults. Her works include Macaroni: Queen of the Dozens, LAT: The Little Boy Who Prayed, What Is Buried, Doesn't Stay Buried, and the co-authored novel The Hallway People. Through her writing, Ruth draws upon generations of lived experience and a lifetime of stories, creating books that entertain, inspire, and preserve voices and experiences for generations to come.
