Sheila May Bird

I have written short stories, plays for children and pantomimes for all ages, but my first published book was SAM THE BIG BAD CAT, an early reader for HarperCollins. Since then I have written picture books, readers and stories, published by Scholastic, Pearson, Oxford University Press, Caterpillar, Franklin Watts, Kingfisher, Gullane and Welbeck.

I’ve always loved reading and now I have the absolute pleasure of touring schools, libraries and bookshops to do live storytelling to children and adults alike. I truly enjoy meeting people at these events, even if only for the chance to dress up and to listen to children’s delightful questions.
