Kacey Mark Miller

Kacey Miller grew up in Velma, Oklahoma, a small town in the south-central region of the state. Here, he developed a passion for both distance running and fictional writing. In fact, many ideas, which later sprang forth onto paper, first found life while his feet traversed miles of windswept, oilfield terrain. These long runs allowed his mind to wander and then to ponder matters as fluid and murky as the ink later etched onto the pages of his novels.

Kacey holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Master’s in Education for Secondary Principal. He and his wife, Natalie, served as teachers in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area for thirteen years. During this time, Kacey coached and sponsored a variety of sports and activities but, most consistently, track and chess.

Having visited all fifty states and numerous countries around the world, he and his wife take any opportunity they can grasp for travel. This desire to explore the globe and its intriguing stories has also been aided by the U.S. Army. Kacey has served in the Army Reserve for twenty-five years, and in 2018, he made the Army a full-time career whenever he accepted a position in the Active Guard Reserve Program.

He currently holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and works at the Vancouver Armed Forces Reserve Center as the operations officer for a Hospital Center. Though his job and his aspirations for travel keep him busy, he still finds time to capture on paper the ideas sparked by his wandering feet and pondering mind.
