Daniel Böhm is an Argentine writer, filmmaker and psychoanalyst based in Buenos Aires. His fiction brings together an intimate and often oblique observation of everyday life with a sensibility shaped by cinema and psychoanalysis.
He is the author of Fuera de cuadro (2019), Una flor en el jardín del mal (2023), and Última fila (2026). His stories move between memory, desire, sexuality, family, travel and the unexpected disturbances that emerge beneath apparently ordinary situations, often with humor and a distinctly cinematic sense of scene and detail.
Böhm studied medicine at the University of Buenos Aires and cinematography and film at New York University. Alongside his writing, he has had a long career as a filmmaker and visual artist. His films have received international recognition, including a First Prize at the Joseph Papp Latino Film Festival in New York, a Golden Plaque at the Chicago International Film Festival, and a Silver Lion at the Cannes International Advertising Competition.
His audiovisual work has been exhibited internationally, including a retrospective at Slought Foundation. Across literature, film and photography, his work returns to questions of memory, desire, identity and the sometimes uneasy relationship between what is seen and what remains outside the frame.
