Anna Boglione of acclaimed Petersham Nurseries and THE GUT, is releasing her very first book. Named Recipes to Reconnect, the book incorporates food and conversations to re-establish the relationship between nature, food and self. Divided into four chapters, one for each season, and includes thought-provoking conversations with inspiring thinkers and writers on everything from mushrooms to microbes.
From the Italian Alps to Petersham Nurseries perched on the Thames, Anna's upbringing was permeated by nature. Later in life, a change in diet and environment, and subsequently a disconnect from the natural world, caused Anna digestive issues, affecting both her physical and mental health. This spurred her to research holistic practices, nutrition and learn about food systems. She launched THE GUT, a food and wellness platform which encourages healthy living in balance with nature, with food and holistic practices at its core.
Recipes to Reconnect provides a blueprint for a better way of eating and living, based on the knowledge Anna has gleaned during her years of investigation. Throughout the book, Anna emphasises the importance of coming together around the table, in order to reconnect with friends and loved ones new and old. The book’s purpose is to inspire thoughts and conversations that readers might have around their own dining room tables at home.
“Having passed through a time of deep separation, coming together around the table to break bread, reconnect with loved ones and divulge ideas has never been so important. Our planet is suffering and we are on the precipice of change, I hope this book champions positive thought and ideas, that can inspire us to heal as individuals connected to a system greater then ourselves.”
